Whether you have a limited amount of time to offer, or want to become more engaged, there is the perfect schedule here for you. All volunteers receive orientation, training, and on-going support. If you are interested in volunteering please fill out our Volunteer Application and return it to Crystal Cote-Stosz at the Senior Center. Listed below are some of the ways you can volunteer! We need: · Receptionists Substitute receptionists are needed for various shifts. This position is fast paced. Responsibilities include answering the phone, assisting customers and other tasks. · Medical Transportation Drivers Volunteers needed to transport seniors to medical appointments. Use your own vehicle. Fuel and out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. Insurance coverage supplemented under City of Northampton. · Van Drivers Van drivers needed to transport seniors to and from the Senior Center and for special events. Volunteer for a morning or afternoon schedule or as a substitute. No special driver’s license necessary. Training provided. Insurance coverage supplemented under City of Northampton. · Coffee Shop Substitutes needed for various shifts. Make coffee and sell assorted pastries. Other Volunteer Opportunities: · Gift Shop Morning shifts available on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and afternoon shifts available on Mondays and Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Substitute shifts are also available. · Recreational Bingo Help set up, clean up and assist during Bingo on Thursdays, 1-3:30 p.m. · Companion Program Visit with and assist seniors in their homes. Please call 587-1226 if this is something of interest to you. · Needle·Work·Shop Club meets Mondays from 1-3 p.m. Assist in creating handmade baby clothes, doll clothes, afghans, and more for the Senior Center Gift Shop. · Special Events Set up Prepare rooms and set up tables for special events. · Are You Crafty or Artistic?
