The Northampton Council on Aging & Senior Center is located at 67 Conz Street in Northampton. The Senior Center is open Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Services that are offered include:

  • Friendly staff for your assistance
  • State-of-the-art fitness center with trained fitness coordinators
  • Large variety of books to read and books on tape to borrow. Also, morning newspaper and large assortment of magazines for your reading pleasure
  • Coffee social every Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
  • Card tables for any card or board game and a Billiard Pool Table in the Games Room. Current games include Cribbage, Bridge, Scat and Michigan Rummy
  • Games such as Scrabble, Mah Jongg and Chess and many puzzles to put together
  • Computers with Internet access available in the Computer Room, a variety of computer classes and computer tutors for individual assistance
  • Special interest groups that meet regularly such as the Needle Work Shop, Open Art Studio, Play Reading Group, Senior Bike Club, Healthy Living Club, Movie Club, Low Vision Support Group, Timeless Tunes Band, Men’s Game Night and Creative Writing
  • Day Trips and travel opportunities! Many to choose from each month.
  • PVTA Photo ID's for van service and PVTA van tickets
  • Fitness & Dance Classes (for a fee) including Tap, Tai Chi, Low Impact Exercise, Yoga, Line Dancing, Tango and more
  • Free blood pressure and hearing clinics as well as a variety of other special health-related workshops and clinics
  • Food assistance programs such as Brown Bag Food for Elders, the Emergency Food Pantry and help with Food Stamp (SNAP) applications
  • A variety of medical equipment available to loan to Northampton seniors
  • Many creative art, musical and social events and workshops


The Director, Assistant Director/Volunteer Coordinator, Program Coordinator, Secretary/Clerk and Social Worker are full-time 35-hour-a-week positions. All other staff are part time: Business Manager, Home Repair Coordinator/Inspector, Elder Vision Editor, Senior Aides, Fitness Coordinators and Support Staff.
