Senior Center seeks recipes for cookbook
Thanks to a new fundraising effort, supporting the Senior Center can be as easy as sharing a favorite family recipe. Volunteers and staff at the Council on Aging are working to create a Northampton Senior Center Cookbook. Categories will include: appetizers & snacks, bread & baked goods, soups & salads, main dishes, side dishes, vegetables, holiday specialties, beverages, desserts, and cookies & candies. In addition to recipes, participants are also invited to share the stories that are associated with those recipes — such as how they came up with a particular recipe, why, or for whom. Sharing your delicious creations will help support programs and services at the Senior Center. Recipe forms are available at the Senior Center and in Elder Vision. Click here for a printable copy of the recipe form. Recipes are due by August 6. You can also help with the project in other ways. Charlene Madsen and Olivine Lococo are in charge of the cookbook project and the Cookbook Committee would be glad to welcome more members. Help is also needed for data entry, compiling and organizing recipes and many other tasks. For more information, please call Council on Aging Director Patte Shaughnessy at 587-1231.
